Born in NEW YORK City, Trump graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 . After becoming president of the family real estate business in 1971, Trump renamed it the Trump Organization and reoriented the company toward building and renovating skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and courses. Between 1991 and 2009, he filed foe Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for six of his businesses: the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan, the casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and the Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts company.
